IWD 2025 - Accelerate Action

As individuals, we can all take steps in our daily lives to positively impact women’s advancement.

We can call out stereotypes, challenge discrimination, question bias, celebrate women’s success, and so much more. Additionally, sharing our knowledge and encouragement with others is key.

4F’s first ToMR team 2021

Elevating women's participation and achievement in sport is one of the strategies 4F uses to Accelerate Action to positively impact women's advancement toward gender equality.

Female riders are underrepresented in cycling - within AusCycling only 20% of members are female (1). 4F seeks to address the structural and cultural barriers to female participation across four main areas:

  • Building a female-focused community where women feel safe to develop the skills and confidence to participate

  • Creating pathways to integration into events & races - social rides, hosting female only events (Twilight Crits), providing female fields within mixed events (Tiger Tracks Gravel), and supporting female riders in mixed gender racing (ToMR).

  • Cultural representation in marketing & media - sharing positive imagery of women in sport - be what you can see!

  • Leadership - providing 4F development grants and appointing women to key roles

“The story of women’s struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organization but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights.”
— Gloria Steinem [internationalwomensday.com]

4F is always striving to support and inspire women, and we warmly welcome members who are passionate about forging gender equality in sport and beyond.
