The Cycling
Racing
Tiger Tracks Gravel race is two stages over two days:
Saturday: Tiger TT - Gravel individual time trial 18km
Sunday: Little Tiger OR Big Tiger - Gravel races 40/79km
Tiger Tracks winners will have the fastest combined ITT & race times over the two days. Pairs times will be calculated on the sum of the pair’s Saturday ITT times, and the second rider’s Sunday race time. There will be categories for solo women and men, female pairs, and mixed pairs. There will also be recognitions for female riders 45+, male riders 55+, Junior U17 (Little Tiger only), Junior U15 (TT only), and Para-Cyclist categories.
Entry into individual events (rather than both days) will be possible, with the winners recognised at presentations.
Riding
For those who want a more leisurely experience, there are social participation rides on Saturday and Sunday that will set out after the races depart. These will be supported by experienced gravel riders.
Learning
Saturday morning there will be a Basic Bike Mechanics session, and a Gravel Riding Skills session. Bookings essential.
The course
The course terrain is rolling, rather than hilly, and is generally on the lower end of the technical spectrum. The routes follow Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attraction roads and tracks, passing through the Wiltshire-Butler National Park and McCorkhill State Forest. The routes are lined by native jarrah, marri and banksia woodland, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for emus and kangaroos! Depending on the weather and when the roads last saw the Shire grader, they could be smooth, corrugated, sandy, or muddy - but they will definitely be 100% gravel.

The Community
The Event Hub is at the Darradup Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade Shed in Jalbarragup, 20km from Nannup. This is a small remote rural community: the facilities will be basic, but the welcome will be warm. There will be water, ice and food available. The Fire Brigade will be directing the parking and running a gourmet sausage sizzle, so be sure to bring your cash to support these community fundraising efforts.
Be aware! There is only Telstra network coverage in the area.
Suggested travel routes and parking directions are included in the Rider Guide.

FAQs
I’ve not raced before, what do I need to do?
Refer to the New Racer Guide on the Resources page. In brief:
You will need an AusCycling Membership/Licence
You will need to create an EntryBoss account so you can enter
Contact admin@4fiveplus.org if you need help to find some team mates
If you already have a team mates, register your team here: Sanctuary Summer Series Team Registration - EntryBoss
Enter each round via EntryBoss, and describe your riding experience in the Entry Remarks so we can allocate you to the correct grade (see below)
Make sure your bike is roadworthy (a pre-race service is a good idea) and that your helmet is Australia Standards Approved (AS/NZ 2063)
We recommend you do the mentoring session
What grade should I enter? Experienced racers should enter their usual grade. If you usually ride solo, be aware that a bunch of riders will travel about 5km/hour faster than a solo rider. If you are not accustomed to riding in a bunch, be conservative with your choice of grade. As an indication, the average speed of the grades are expected to be in the ranges below
A Grade 36-40km/hr
B Grade 34-38km/hr
C Grade 32-36km/hr
D Grade 28-32km/hr
What if one of the team can't make one of the events? The team can use a substitute rider for that event.
What if I want to join in, but don't have a team? If you don't have a team, or need extra members, contact admin@4fiveplus.org and we will try to help with team formation.
