What is it?

A series of three criterium events run by women, for women (with the help of a few good men). Each event includes opportunities for learning and racing.

4Five+ had one aim in creating the series: to provide a fun, safe, encouraging environment where women could enjoy racing. Where women are the centre of attention, and their needs are prioritized.

From the 4F blog

The 4F Twilight Series is a team event, with riders in teams of three. Team members can enter any combination of grades A-E (Junior U13 & U11 will accrue points and receive separate recognition for the series.). Participation points from the three team members will go towards the overall total, with additional points awarded to the top 5 finishers in each criterium event. Teams registering a volunteer will also earn points.

Race fields are capped to promote rider safety, and there will be a wait list for each grade if the field hits capacity.

There will be beginner skills sessions in Round 1, and races each round as follows:

  • A & B Grade Chase 20 min + 2 laps

  • C grade 20 min + 2 laps

  • D grade 20 min + 2 laps

  • E grade 15 min + 2 laps, U13 15 min + 2 laps, U11 10 min + 2 laps

The A&B Grade Chase is a handicap, with B Grade given a head start, and A Grade chasing. C and D Grade will have separate race times. E Grade/U13/U11 will be on course at the same time, but race separately.

As the events are graded criteriums, entries are invited from Juniors U15 and up to participate in the appropriate grade. U13 and U11 will participate in their age group, but will be on course with E Grade.
